Data Storage & Privacy

MacroMeals is built with your privacy in mind. All your personal data stays on your device - we don't store any of your meal plans, food logs, or personal information on our servers.

What Data We Store (Locally Only)

• Your meal plans and custom meals
• Food logs and macro tracking data
• Personal preferences and settings
• Calculation history
• Saved recipes and favorites

All this data is stored in your browser's IndexedDB. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly share a URL with meal plan parameters.

No Account Required

MacroMeals doesn't require registration or login. There are no user accounts, passwords, or authentication systems. Your data is yours alone.

Third-Party Services

We use the USDA FoodData Central API for ingredient nutrition lookups. These lookups are anonymous - no personal data is sent. Only ingredient names are queried.

Data Control

You have full control over your data:

• Export all your data as JSON at any time
• Clear all data with one click in Settings
• Data is automatically deleted if you clear your browser data

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This collects anonymous usage statistics but does not track personal information.

Cookies

We don't use tracking cookies. Your browser's local storage and IndexedDB are used solely for storing your meal planning data locally on your device.
